100-inch Lens

Jim Nowell writes:

I think the 100-inch lens surveillance camera was developed by Columbia University for the Signal Corps.

The photograph was taken on top of the Empire State Building in 1954 by "Gene" Waddell.

The man kneeling -- looking through the viewfinder -- is Dick Sequarra.

I am behind the camera.  Don't know who the officer is.

The camera used 5x7 cut film.
